| Abstract: | Laber (1991) questioned the main idea of Blankart and Knieps (1989). This reply acknowledges some points by Laber but argues that the regulatory dialectic of Laber is not as accurate as the political economy approach used here. In particular, he does not explain why market forces were less successful with respect to complete entry deregulation on the intra-state level and within EEC countries than on interstate level. |
