Abstract:Thailand needs to come to grips with its debt problem and other economic ills. But the business community and the government are reluctant to face the facts. It's Makha Bucha day in Thailand, a Buddhist holiday, but along Bangkok's Rachadamri Road the construction crews are on the job. It looks like any other busy day in a booming Asian capital. But appearances are deceiving. Despite the forest of cranes over Bangkok, the Thai economy is in trouble - and the mess could take years to clean up.
