Abstract:This study proposes and tests a preliminary model explaining spouse willingness (hereafter as: will.) to relocate internationally and manager will. to assume a global assignment. The present study aims to build understanding of factors influencing on spouse's attitudes toward both short- and long-term global relocation opportunities. Data from questionnaires completed by 427 global managers and 167 spouses were used to test hypotheses examining the relationships btw. individual, family and organizational, factors and spouse criterion variables. The data in the study were analysed by conducting structural equation modelling. Provided are theoretical, methodological and practical contributions of the study.
