| Abstract: | An important factor in Compaq's success has been its ability to attract the right people and put them in the right environment. Its Relocation Center and Career Corner have helped to increase the percentage of those who accept a job offer and complete the relocation process. The number of relocating personnel (766 in 1989 alone) has provided a true challenge to Compaq's Relocation Team, particularly because management believes that the number one priority of the company's relocation plan is employee satisfaction. The team met the challenge by developing the Relocation Policy and Support Program, a comprehensive effort that offers benefits ranging from an in-house resource center to gift packets for children. |
