Abstract:The business of Britain's only sizeable car maker is highly complex, spanning engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing and finance. Rover's mission is to keep ahead in the car race in terms of product innovation and speed to market. Staff at Rover have been offered planned access to PCs. The spread of PCs was rapid but controlled. An important application of IT is the creation of powerful and flexible databases using the latest techniques.
