Abstract:Does your company´s product scheduling function help the organization´s most basic goal in making money? Is the product scheduling function helping or hurting your supply chain? The first key to modern manafacturing is that work is not profitable if it is done solely for the purpose of keeping people busy and does not contribute to throughput. If people work on product that is newer sold and thereford sits on a shelf, that product is not throughput. It only represents carrying costs, insurance costs and storage and handling costs.
