| Abstract: | A merger between two Scandinavian universal banks is analyzed to determine the arguments for the merger at the time of the merger at the time of the merger announcement. The merger was a response to changes in legislative and competitive environment, as well as a quest for broader functional competency and improved competitive position by integrating a smaller, more successful bank into a state-owned bank. |
