Abstract: | In this study, corporate responsibility in the supply chains (here as: s-chns.)of four of the largest Scandinavian (here as: S.) multinational corporations, that is, IKEA, Nokia, Novo Nordisk, and StatoilHydro is examined. There are two key findings: i. The explored S. companies have all implemented responsible s-chns. practices (as: prcs.) where suppliers in developing nations, and their communities, are engaged as key stakeholders, being treated as partners. ii. These s-chns. prcs. all share the common bond of having honesty and the establishment of trust-based relationships. As a result, these S. companies have developed a "cooperative advantage" in-their ability to form successful, long-term partnerships in their respective s-chns. |
