| Abstract: | Italy still has 87 savings banks, but the process of cannibalism is going ahead. Minis are being rapidly swallowed up by maxis. Although the federation of savings banks does not favor this process, it is an inevitable tendency. All over Italy mergers follow mergers. A possible alternative to mergers is sharing services or creating umbrella organizations. But this solution is more cosmetic than real. |
