| Abstract: | This paper is a speech regarding the research of business history. Most important developments of the past half century in this field are named: (1) the spread of democracy around the world; (2) the rapid technological changes of the information age; (3) the globalization of finance, production and trade; (4) the spread of market-oriented capitalism. Central aspects of writing the history of business are suggested. |
