Abstract:This article describes how Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) received a U.S. Department of Education Title VIa grant, “International Business Specialization” in 1996. The grant aimed to enhance the International Business Specialization at SIUE. The project was undertaken because of the need for people who were well grounded in business theory but also possessed foreign language skills. The original language tracks included French, German, Russian and Spanish. A Chinese track was included in 1999.
