Abstract:This article studies the decision making in an organisation that publicly promotes its commitment to social responsibility. It examines the perceived influence of control systems on socially responsive decision making by using a UK-based company which consistently publishes audited social reports as a case study. The findings suggest that the most dominant controls are informal controls such as social and self-controls in instilling socially responsive decision making among the managers.
