Abstract: | This paper analyzes the determinants of corporate reputation within a sample of large U.K. companies (here as: comps.) drawn from a diverse range of industries. Particular attention is paid to the role of philanthropic expenditures (as: phil-exps.) and policies possibly played in shaping the perceptions of comps. among their stakeholders. Among others, the findings highlight that comps. making higher levels of phil-exps. have better reputations and that this effect varies significantly across industries. |
