Abstract:This paper examines how a sensemaking approach assists to understand the business challenges of corporate social responsibility (CSR) within an organizational context using experiences within Royal Dutch Shell. Findings show that the passport to CSR in international business organization is to engage stakeholders and start a process of joint sensemaking.
