Abstract:This article investigates how Caterpillar Brasil Limitada has changed its view of the concept of social responsibility over a 30-year period. Article consists of contextual overview of Piracicaba's position in the agro-industrialized region, Caterpillar's history from its start in the aforementioned city and the development of practices contributing to social responsibility including analyses of the problems encountered during the process. The study emphasizes development of open channels and continual civil involvement in projects between business and civil society.
