| Abstract: | This paper empirically investigates institutional investors allocations to socially responsible (SR) private equity investments. The study proposes two elements influence SR institutional investment in private equity: institutional organizational structure and internationalization. The dataset from a survey of 100 Dutch institutional investors is introduced. There is found very strong evidence that SR private equity investment is more common when the investment plan implementation decision is centralized with a single chief investment officer. Also, SR private equity investments are more common among institutional investors that invest in Europe and North America, in contrast to Asian and domestic (Dutch) investments. |
