Abstract:It is explored how the action logics linked with the stages of consciousness (hereafter as: stg-of-cnss.) development of organizational leaders can influence the meaning given to corporate greening by these leaders. Moreover, leaders' capacity to figure the specific complexities, values, and demands of environmental (herein as: env-al.) issues are explored, as well. It is explored how the seven principal action logics (that is: Opportunist, Diplomat, Expert, Achiever, Individualist, Strategist and Alchemist) identified by Rooke and Torbert (publ. in Harvard Business Review, 2005 vol.83:4 p. 66-76) can affect env-al. leadership. Examining the strengths and limitations of these action logics uncovers the relevance of the so-called post-conventional stg-of-cnss. for the recognition and effective management of complex env-al. issues.
