Abstract: | Changes in management thinking and practice are an important precondition for a successful transition from planned to market economy. On the example of Russia, the article highlights the primacy of marketdriven business knowledge for changes in management. Based on an empirical study, attitudes of Russians towards business learning are presented. A rank order of business education needs is being established and requirements for a successful educational approach and delivery are being proposed. Business education in Russia has to be adjusted continuously to reflect the progress in transition. It also must aim at both the communication of knowledge and the shifting of behavioral patterns. |
