Abstract:This paper makes a comparative study of supermarkets in China and America and also discusses the similarities and differences between two countries' supermarkets and the reasons for them. Drawing for reference America's experience in the development of supermarket, this paper gives its ideas on how to develop China's supermarket: 1. actively develop chain supermarket groups; 2. practise low-price tactics; 3. stress fresh and live goods among varieties of goods; 4. satisfy the "buying all the needed goods one time" demand of consumers with middle and low income; 5. raise the hardware and software level of business operation.
