Abstract: | This paper discusses the difficulty in introducing authoritative commentary on the development and trajectory of leisure studies by leisure scholars. A review of the leisure project and attempts to move beyond traditional succession of leisure studies, cultural studies and pleasure studies are presented as well as a brief outline of four recognizable versions of the leisure project (the leisure society, leisure as control, post-modern leisure and lifestyle leisure). |
