| Abstract: | Traditional corporate disciplinary systems often fail to encourage responsible employee behaviour. Positive discipline is presented as a management tool for responding to individual employees' unacceptable behaviour, while supporting the good performance of the majority. Positive discipline has been implemented at Union Carbide with successful results: constructive interaction with individual employee problems encourages employee self-discipline and recommitment to the organizations' goals. |
