Abstract:Sickness absence can be expensive for employers. But how can you reduce its financial impact without dragging ill people back into the workplace? Return-to-work interviews are probably the most influential element in ensuring that absences are not treated casually. The number of days that organizations lose annually as a result of staff absence varies from as few as two to as many as 15 per employee. National statistics show that the average time lost in 3.7% or about eight and a half days a year.
