Abstract:Using a questionnaire, this study examines the effects of gender (hereafter as: g.) on the following 3 work-related dimensions: 1. the importance of work-related goals, 2. the preference (here as: pref.) for performance rewards, and 3. the pref. for management styles (as: mgmt-stls.) in a multinational corporation headquartered in Germany with branches in China, Japan and the USA. In overall, it is found that men and women exhibit similar preferences concerning performance rewards and mgmt-stls. Finally, for the 3 dimensions studied, the data do not confirm the stereotypical work-related g. differences.
