Abstract: | Interorganizational analysis is used to examine recent changes in the institutional framework for tourism in Sweden, a country which has experienced significant restructuring of its official tourist organizations at all levels: national, regional and local. Specific dimensions of change analyzed include goals, functions, structuring and funding. Continuing debate has occurred in Sweden over the importance of social and economic goals and the roles of organizations at different levels, a trend towards greater private sector participation and funding is noted and increased emphasis is being given to marketing. |
