Abstract:The authors try to study what major principles should form the basis for ethical decision making and for establishing standards or rules of behavior within which a future hospitality manager must function. The 12 principles suggested to study were: accountability, commitment to excellence, concern for others, fairness, honesty, integrity, law abiding, leadership, loyalty, promise keeping, reputation, respect for others. The survey concerned with general managers of the largest lodging properties in each of the 50 United States.
