| Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether or not the reason for the poor forecasting performance of least squares regression models of international tourism demand is the failure to adopt recent developments in econometric methods. In order to carry out this investigation, the forecasting performance of error correction models (ECMs) is compared with the performance of least squares regression models. |
