Abstract:The study explores the 100 most influential articles published in tourism journals in the years 200-2007. The 100 most influential ones were decided based on how many times they had been cited. A Google Scholar-based software was created to analyze this matter. The results indicate that 10.16% of the citations were from Institute for Scientific Information-listed(ISI) journals, and that 71.64% were neither from ISI nor tourism journals. The most frequent topics were psychology, tourist behavior, destination image, and marketing.
