Abstract:According to managerial cognition perspective, mangers develop knowledge structures that help them to focus their attention, behavior and actions in complex and dynamic environments. This study concentrates on those structures. In the research part, the strategic issues managers pay attention to in annual reports are measured. The results show that expert raters can recognize the formed seven main factors describing managers' strategic cognition. Thus, the content of managerial attention can be illustrated using the terms of Miles and Snow (1978).
