Abstract: | For overall development of tourism, knowledge (here as: knwg.) dissemination (KD) among tourism stakeholders is a key issue. Using tourism marketing (hereafter as: t-m.) courses as an example, this study examines what and how knwg. is being disseminated in the classroom. Based on the Sender-Message-Channel-Receiver (SMCR) model (by Shannon, 1948), 43 t-m. syllabi are analyzed to identify the senders and receivers of knwg., knwg. being communicated in the classroom, channels of communication (as: comm.) btw. educators and students, and feedback of comm. received from students. This study is suggested to help tourism scholars gain state-of-the-art knwg. of the content and formats of t-m. courses etc. |
