Abstract:Executives must develop skills to manage management time as well as conventional time. Methods which improve skills include understanding life-space structures, using methods proposed by Peter F. Drucker, and managing one's immediate management molecule as proposed by William Oncken. Four life-space structures are identified and analyzed: home-based nuclear structures; work-based nuclear structures; conjoint structures; diffuse structures. The ways of eliminating time-wastes are described. Management's time is divided between intrusions by superiors, subordinates, and internal and external peers. Together, these make up the molecule of management. Time management techniques used by H. Genen, Ex-CEO of IT and T are also explored.
