Abstract:Internal security programs to guard against kidnapping have become commonplace at corporations that work in high-risk areas. One reason is that corporate executives are vulnerable, easy targets. Attacks against business and other private interests now account for three-quarters of all anti-American terrorist incidents worldwide, and the trend is growing. Some data are given of the most prominent terrorist attacks, and some incidents are cited. Most of the top 500 companies in the USA now operate with an internal security program that provides some degree of preventive training and contingency planning for terrorist attacks. Some cost estimates are presented of security services.
