| Abstract: | The importance of inter-organizational knowledge for successful innovation of complex products and systems has been recognized by R&D research. Through literature review and two case studies, the article aims to build a framework for studying the impact of inter-organizational knowledge management on the development of complex products and systems. This conceptual model reveals two dimensions of inter-organizational knowledge management (network embeddability and interaction intensity) and that their implementation can have a positive effect on the performance of complex product and systems projects. |
