Abstract: | There are two ideologically opposite schools of thought as to what is meant by good Website design. The approaches differ fundamentally in terms of how to balance two interrelated but conflicting elements-presentation and usability. Supporters of the aesthetic school argue that the graphical/multimedia features of the Web should be used to enhance the visitor experience. Functionalists, on the other hand, argue for less emphasis on visual design and more focus on content. This article reviews both approaches examining their applicability to the travel product. |
