| Abstract: | This paper aims at gaining a better understanding of various network relationships (here as: r-ships.) in the software industry by classifying r-ships. by type and identifying distinctions with respect to the business potential of those r-ships. A framework for the tasks of combining and exchanging knowledge-based resources in network r-ships is presented. In the empirical research setting, the r-ships. of 9 Finnish software firms are classified and placed in the framework, and then the organizational effectiveness of the r-ships. is measured. The findings reveal three r-ship. types, each leading to different effectiveness profiles. This study extends the understanding of management in strategic networks etc. |
