Abstract:The present research deals with employees' fairness judgements of their own pay and tries to investigate major propositions about such judgements. The investigation was based on cross- sectional city sample of 222 employees in Israel. The findings support the equity theory, according to which individuals are likely to tend to compare their pay with that of similars. The evidence is that feelings of inequity develop where inputs/ investments are undervalued in terms of prevalent norms of exchange.
