| Abstract: | For years it has been debated both in academia and praxis whether the cooperative bank system's three layers should not be reduced to two by merging regional cooperative bank centres with the Deutsche Genossenschaftsbank. The present article presents the background and the arguments of the said structure debate, and also the possible repercussions of a transition. |
