Abstract:The scale and scope of charitable activity throughout the United Kingdom is difficult to establish with any accuracy. Undoubtedly, charitable organizations receive and contribute significant resources in providing services to those in need. There is a growing awareness that changes in the operating environment create new and different challenges and opportunities. To survive and indeed develop the response competency of organizations, in what is an increasingly competitive environment, needs to be assessed.
