Abstract:Despite shifts in the global lending industry, traditional banking continues to offer African borrowers a potentiality better deal based on a relationship of trust and versality that no bond market could be better. International lending has changed dramatically over the past decade due to a migration to the bond markets by many governments and large companies. Nevertheless bank facilities still prevail where the added flexibility is deemed crucial by the borrower, or where due to poor credit rating or cost considerations, bonds are not yet a viable option.
