Abstract: | Market-, resource- and value-based view are the three principle view of strategic management. Hard and soft success factors serve to put their insights into practice. The author combines the principle views and success factors in an 'integrated concept of strategy' and discusses its implications for planning and reporting systems. The globalization of financial markets is of major importance in this context. It commands strategic management to focus on the economic value of capital, i.e. the value-based view. With market- and resource-based view as the foundation for value-based management, 'balanced' planning and reporting systems must comprise objectives and measures of each view, which is also the idea of the 'balanced scorecard'. |
