| Abstract: | The sharp decline in the volume of trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Japanese issuance in the Euromarkets has led foreign securities houses in Tokyo to look to the domestic capital markets. Deregulation is the key to creating a more competitive and volatile environment where foreigners can thrive, enabling the introduction of new products and trading techniques designed back home. But "indigenization" means heavy investment in human and technological resources which is creasing a few brows. |
