Abstract:The great increase in the number of productions is improving the profile and influence of America's cable networks. The demand for original programming on cable TV in the U.S. is creating a boost of production. Movies premiered on cable give viewers an opportunity to see films they can't see anywhere else. Original production has increased the importance of cable TV. Individual cable services tend to specialise. Co-productions are an important part of the picture.
