| Abstract: | The treatment of cross-subsidization is examined under the antitrust laws in the context of a US telecommunication service industry. It is suggested that an economic-based analysis is required to determine whether on balance the sharing of the benefits of such R&D funding among the various entities promotes competition or suppresses it. |
