| Abstract: | This paper investigates the relationships between innovativeness of firms, their organizational performance and characteristics. Former conflicting results may be due to a narrow definition of the construct of innovativeness. In this study, which uses a multidimensional measure of innovativeness, the reasons for former findings become evident. The results show, substantive relationships do exist between organisational factors, innovativeness, and performance. These complex relationships can be detected only if innovativeness is measured as a multidimensional construct. The results show that innovativeness improves organizational performance. |
