| Abstract: | The paper deals with the analysis of present situation in the development of small and medium business in Slovakia. The functions of SMB in general terms and their applications under Slovakia's economy are described in the first part of the paper. Development of SMB for the period of 1990 - 1995 is assessed by means of statistics in the next part of the paper, while references are made to later years. In the conclusion the author evaluates specific features of Slovak SMEs, their strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities for and threats to their future growth. |
