Abstract:The report examines the European retail market for slimming and supplementary nutrition in France, Italy, the UK, Germany and Spain, the period under review is 1992-1996 for current data and 1996-2001 for future outlook of the market. The market has benefited from an increase in health awareness, healthier lifestyles and self-medication. Within Europe, Germany is the largest market for slimming and supplementary nutrition , amounting to USD1,527 million in 1996. The UK and Italy are expected to record the strongest real value growth over the period 1996-2001, respectively of 42.5% and 35.8%.
