Abstract:With particular reference to the German and British model of labour flexibility, the paper examines to what extent environmental pressures on companies to enhance the various forms of labour flexibility have led to a convergence trend across the EU. The article establishes a conceptual framework for the analysis of labour flexibility at the micro level, analyses the interdependencies between the various types of labour flexibility and evaluates recent empirical evidence.
