Abstract:Since the reform of double-track system started in China, the rent accounts for approx. 30-40%, a quite high proportion in the national income. The rent source makeup has changed, rent from commodities market being relatively reduced while from element market increased, which is in line with the reform process upon market principle. In the course of converting from planned to market economy, certain phenomenon of rent seeking is inevitable. We have to decrease the friction and contradiction of new system using system renovation approach so as to diminish the destructive impact of the rent seeking upon reform progress.
