Abstract:Organizations enter alliances with each other to access critical resources. They rely, however, on information from the network of prior alliances to determine with whom to co-operate. These new alliances modify the existing network. In this research, these ideas are tested on alliances formed in three industries over several years. In the sample, there are American, European and Japanese organizations.
