| Abstract: | This paper examines an equity investment strategy called dollar cost averaging which is widely recommended by professional advisors but ignored by academics. The results of the study suggests that an uninformed individual investor is better off following the dollar cost averaging strategy than following the ‘rational’ strategies traditionally recommended by academics. |
