Abstract:This study deals with four studies comparing the stock market decisions of Canadians (here as: Cnds.) and Chinese (as: Chns.). Using simple stock market trends, in two studies compared with Chns., Cnds. were more willing to sell (as: w-to-s.) and less willing to buy (as: w-to-b.) falling stock. However, with stock prices rising, the opposite occurred: Cnds. were more w-to-b. and less w-to-s. A third study showed that for complex stock price trends (as: p-trends.), Cnds. were strongly influenced by the most recent p-trends., whereas the Chns. made reversal predictions for the dominant trends. A fourth study replicated the finding with experienced individual investors. These findings are consistent with the previous literature.
